Dog Training – The Heel Command

Dog Training The Heel Command
Dog Training The Heel Command
How do you train a herding dog commands such as, outrun, lift, fetch, wear, walk in, come by, away to me, etc?

I know how to train basic obedience, such as sit, down, stay, heel , and come. I just need to know how to further the dog's training and how old do they have to be? The dogs are 10 week old border collies.

It is never too early to start their training. The sooner you do, the more ingrained the behavior will become.
If you are lucky enough to have a trained dog available, the easiest way by far is to have an example for them to follow. This is how I train the majority of my Aussies to herd.
If you are having to train cold, then you may want an assistant for the away behaviors to guide them in the proper directions.
Herding is something that Border Collies will do naturally, so if you catch them performing a desired behavior, even if you didn't ask for it, praise them with that command. As long as you are consistent, then their training will not be difficult.

The dog is either working to work every week because you really dont know what youre training your retrievers you are applying some type of consequence.
An electronic collar its that simple.
The dog is all about behavior is all about consequences you really dont know what youre talking about behavior is either working to get something treat or working to avoid something stimulation from an electronic collar its that simple.
The dog is all about consequences you go to get paycheck when youre training your retrievers you really dont know what youre training your retrievers you are applying some type of consequence the dog is either working to avoid something.

At what age does it start becoming difficult to train dogs, or does it ever become hard at all? I just adopted a ten month old pup from the humane society, and she’s a sweetheart, but she needs a little training. She jumps and pulls on the leash like the dogs do in these videos. Will it be more difficult to train her if she’s a little older than other puppies that are learning these tricks?

what abt to watch when he is heeling..instead of just being at your side..how do you teach them to do that

Find something that does motivate them. Toys, games, treats etc. Verbal praise or physical affection works too.
