Parrot stuff again more urgent questions?
Hi again. Thanks to everyone who answered my question...I have more now. I am looking to buy her a proper parrot cage, but I am not sure what size to get. I know they need to be tall so she can climb, should I make her a gym? I have seen them and they are expensive...I can make one for cheap!!! Also I have a cat..she dosnt seem to mind her at the moment. I dont leave them alone together for obvious reasons, but can I train my cat to like her and leave her alone? Also I am after a fact sheet type thingy on parrots, but my google searches have come back with nothing usefull can anyone help me with this? Also I have been told you can put wood chips in the bottom of the cage, what kind should I use? I dont want to kill her with poison. Can anyone also provide me with any extra informaiton that could be useful. I dont know much about these birds and would like to everything I can to best care for her.
I would recommend a cage that has bars across the bottom with a tray underneath. That way you can line the with anything from news paper to woodchips, just make sure to clean it often. I always used newpaper for my parakeets. As for the cat how does it act toward the bird? My two birds ride around on my cats back, they seem to enjoy it and I think the cat likes the way thier feet scratch her back.
