boxer/pit bull question?
Put bulls are not the strongest dog and they are not the best fighters
i take my boxer to the dog run and hes gotten into a fight with 5 pits on accident because the dog were being nasty and showing there teeth to me and that what my dog is trained to do (he came from the police department)
please dont make any bad remarks about me or my dog i get very upset

and why are they used as fighting dogs?

I agree with TY B with everything except one thing. Boxers are still used in police work along with American Bulldogs and other Molosser breeds. It's not only German Shepherds. American Pit Bull Terriers are used in police work, too. It's rare though.
To the question. I don't know what your talking about. Theres no such thing as a "Pit Bull." There is such a thing as an American Pit Bull Terrier, though. Allot of people call dogs "Pit Bulls" just because they attack or have a "Bully" head. Are you sure it was indeed an American Pit Bull Terrier? People use American Pit Bull Terriers mostly because they were one of the originals. There are many breeds that are stronger, have stronger jaws, are faster, are more athletic and so on. American Bulldogs and Dogo Argentinos are great examples of dogs like I just mentioned. It doesn't really depend on the breed 100%, more on the fight in the dog. American Pit Bull Terriers should only get 22 - 65 pounds and 16 - 22 inches tall. Your Boxer should only be 19 - 25 inches and 45 - 80 pounds. No dog has "Lock Jaw" unless they have "Tetanus," which is an illness any animal can get, including humans. American Pit Bull Terriers are not in the top 100 strongest dog breeds. They are not in the top 10 Jaw strengths, either. The Bull Terrier is considered the strongest breed pound for pound, not the American Pit Bull Terrier. The overall strongest breed would be Mastiff breeds such as English Mastiffs, Dogo Argentinos and American Bulldogs. No dog is born aggressive and all dogs are great if raised correctly. Your dog needs socialization and training. You need to be pack-leader. Your dog was not professionally trained.

P.S. National Geographic did a test and the American Pit Bull Terrier placed third in Jaw Strength. The only breeds tested though were the German Shepherd, Rottweiler, and American Pit Bull Terrier. So that's not a good test. In truth, Mastiffs have the strongest jaws and American Pit Bull Terriers are not in the top ten strongest.

Uhm..how much do you know about German Shepherds, if I might ask? There are several dogs in GS that are NOT extinct, and the inbreeding is a very harsh statement…. Don’t preach if you don’t know how to. The fact is that Malinois and Dutch shepherds, are related to the german one. Read up on your facts!

I wouldn’t say that they have no relation, Belgian Mals are just slimmer, more aggressive, shorter haired dogs. Both serve their purposes but the German Shepherd has always been most used, and probably always will be.
